  2. I would like to hear a bit more about the experimental drawing course and your book seminar. So many neat choices drawing, books, printmaking clay.... which we could do all. Other than the tuition & fees listed I did not find the cost for boarding at junction.

    1. I had the opportunity to take experimental drawing a couple semesters back with Jeff, I am not very 2-dimensionally minded and I gained a lot from the class. Highly recommend taking it.

  3. I agree Martha, wish we could take them all! It will be so wonderful though, just to have 3 weeks of uninterrupted time to work through a process.

I'm very interested in the clay and printmaking--both favorites of mine that I haven't worked with in the last few years. My brain is bubbling with ideas already. Summer, come faster!!

  4. Another question(s) on Junction. If you can only take one course per session why are the sessions divided by week on the web site. Do some people just come for a week? I realize I am being a bit slow here, but it seems that Junction fills up and I need to get plans in line. Thanks

  5. I have answered some of these questions through my email one on one but I realize that all the questions are good and need to be shared. i advise you contact the professor of the class you want to take now so that he/she will reserve a space for you. Once they OK you in the class contact Karen Lopez in Junction to reserve a room /board. All graduate students are required to seek permission for each class.

Because we do not have online studio classes Junction is the best and only place to take studio classes through TTU.

Some of the classes are offered in one week sections because a few students can only come for a week or two. The professors are just helping us out. Certain classes like clay and glass take a full three weeks to complete. It really is up to the professor.

As for experimental drawing with Jeff Wheeler. This is an intense, hard working class designed to force you to rethink your approach to drawing and/or painting. You will be pushed and pulled and moved to new approaches. The guest artist will be Hills Snyder. Look up both to see what they have to offer. It is an energizing group.

My seminar will focus on artists books. The history, the variety and whys of this wonderful form of expression. Our guest artist will be Jane Lindsay. She will help up create a book online (with the ability to be purchased). Lots of reading, some writing , more thinking and art making.

    1. Martha, normally I attend the conferences when they are so close to home! But this year I've got bridal shower frenzy for friend that same weekend. I'm sad to miss out! Please share the exciting things you learn. :)
